Trump Just Honored A Genocidal Racist. Twitter’s Response Is Perfect
Today, President Trump paid homage to President Andrew Jackson on his 250th birthday, and he made clear that he considers our former Ethnic-Cleanser-in-Chief a personal hero.
Trump described the slave owner and engineer of the murderous Trail of Tears “the people’s President” and “one of our great Presidents” before laying a wreath at his tomb, repeating “Make America Great Again” several times and thanking Jackson for his “service.”

The sight of our most racist President in generations (and most incompetent ever) fawning over a genocidal bigot inspired a flurry of brilliant responses from the Twitterverse:

Andrew Jackson was a slave owner, committed genocide, and was a racist sexist asshole. Trump loves him. Enough said

Can we stop saying he's "winking" at white supremacists? This is pretty brazen support of a bigot.

Even Congressmember Karen Bass (D-CA) got in on the fun:
“I think Andrew Jackson had a great history” – Donald Trump, clueless, with no regard for US history. https://t.co/VKdzOiNBnD

But the most disturbing tweet of all simply recounted the President’s own words:
As Trump reads his speech about Jackson, he repeatedly remarks "that sounds familiar" — noting parallels to his admin.

So if you see this President as a bigoted tyrant, apparently, he agrees with you.
