A NY Times Columnist Just Gave Trump The Perfect Label

It’s no secret that Donald Trump hates The New York Times. For the newspaper that he’s called “the worst” and “failing”, it seems as if the feeling is mutual.

Times columnist Charles Blow was especially incensed over Trump’s proposed budget plan which slashes funding for programs across a wide range of significant priorities including environmental protection, social services, healthcare, and the arts in favor of augmenting an already bloated military budget.

The elimination of one program in particular really caused Blow to fly into a paroxysm of rage on Twitter, the Low-Income Home Energy Assistance Program. This federal program, administered by the Department Of Health and Human Services, “helps keep families safe and healthy through initiatives that assist families with energy costs”, according to their website.

Trump’s misplaced budgetary priorities will mean that while the rich get all the tax cuts that they want, and the military gets all the money they want for new war toys, the poor will freeze.

No wonder people are starting to call Trump President Scrooge!
