Even people in the Liberal bastion of tolerant, diverse Southern California aren’t safe from the kind of public displays of hate that Trump has inspired in many Americans.
Earlier this month, Diana Carrillo and her three friends decided to lunch at the upscale Saint Marc, a popular eatery in Huntington Beach, California – just miles from their home in Irvine. Before they were even able to order, their waiter informed them that they needed to show proof of residency. “I need to make sure you’re from here,” he said. The women were taken completely aback.
“I looked at my sister and [my friend], and I said, ‘did he really just say that?’”
After what had just happened finally sank in, they told Saint Marc’s management about the encounter. Management, to their credit, apologized and offered to make it up them, but the women had had enough.
Diana and her friends left and took their business elsewhere, and later took to social media to report their experience The backlash against the restaurant on Facebook and Yelp has reached a fever pitch.
The waiter has since been fired as the story continues to hit major media outlets from coast to coast.
We bet Saint Marc’s is hoping there are enough Trump supporters willing to pay $15 for their premium grilled cheese, because Liberals are vowing to stay away from the eatery after this shameful act of unveiled racism.
