There is nothing new about Donald Trump firing off tweets that backfire horribly (or wonderfully depending on your point of view). But this may be the first time one of his tweets has so blatantly and completely contradicted his own argument.
During the House Intelligence Committee’s hearing into Russia’s interference in the 2016 Presidential Election, the Directors of the FBI and NSA started off by making absolutely clear that Trump’s accusations about President Obama wiretapping Trump Tower were utter nonsense.
While the Tweeter-in-Chief might have missed that part of the hearing, America’s journalists did not, and it was the top headline throughout the coverage. So when Trump tweeted CNN video from the hearing, the headline declared for all of his loyal followers, “FBI, DOJ, NSA: NO INFO SUPPORTING TRUMP WIRETAP CLAIMS.”
Here is the actual tweet:

You have to live in a bubble to to think there is any validity to these ludicrous wiretapping accusations. Luckily for Trump, most of his supporters do live in a bubble. Now however, thanks to The Donald’s itchy Twitter fingers, even his most loyal followers know the truth as well.
