The feud between President Donald Trump and Arnold Schwarzenegger just went up a notch. The argument began when Trump attacked Schwarzenegger for low approval ratings on The Apprentice, which Schwarzenegger took over after Trump left. Schwarzenegger hit back with a short Twitter comeback asking them to switch jobs, but now he has released an even more scathing video.
The 40-second clip shows Schwarzenegger standing in front of a few city skyscrapers. He lambasts Trump for his poor ratings, telling him “Oh, Donald – the ratings are in, and you got swamped! Wow. Now you’re in the thirties?”
This was in reaction to a new Gallup poll released yesterday which shows that Trump’s job approval rating dropped to an unprecedented low of 37 percent. 6 in ten respondents, or 58 percent, disapprove of the way Trump is handling the Presidency.
Schwarzenegger continues, knocking Trump for his recent budget proposal, which called for an end to after-school programs and meals on wheels.
He said, “I mean, who is advising you? Let me give you some advice: Go to a middle school, to Hart Middle School right in Washington six miles away from the White House. I’ll take you there so you can see the fantastic work that they’re doing for these children.”
Trump is much too cowardly to take Schwarzenegger up on his offer, and frankly, Schwarzenegger probably doesn’t want to spend time with a man who will use a speech at a prayer breakfast to go after him for something as petty and meaningless as TV ratings.
Federal funding for after-school programs is a cause that Schwarzenegger has championed in the past. He helped create many such programs while he was Governor of California and it must be a bitter pill to swallow to have such a meaningful and effective program squashed by such a meaningless and ineffective man.
