‘Morning Joe’ cohost Mika Brzezinski had a lot to say about the notorious Donald Trump surrogate Kellyanne Conway in a recent interview with Variety. Brzezinski ruthlessly mocked Conway and called for all media outlets to ban her.
“I feel even more so that everyone should ban her. I’m surprised that these little acrobatic games are played with her on live national television. I think it denigrates what we do. It’s clear she doesn’t bring anything to the table. It’s clear she doesn’t know exactly what she’s talking about. It’s clear she’s making it up as she goes along.”
Brzezinski then tore into Conway for her outrageous assertions to a New Jersey newspaper that there are “microwaves that turn into cameras.”
“[Conway] did teach us about microwaves. That’s true, and now my microwave is named Kellyanne,” Brzezinski told Variety. “And every time I open it, which is frequently, because I don’t cook, I say, ‘Thank you, Kellyanne!’
“But no, quite seriously, it’s unbelievable she has this job and what it says about this presidency that she has this job.
“Look, it’s not the most comfortable thing to do, but it’s something you just have to: You have to say, ‘This is garbage,’ and rip up the script, and you have to cut to the chase and cut through the b.s., and she brings nothing more to the table than a lot of that.”
In February, Brzezinski gave an impassioned monologue against Conway when she made the decision to permanently ban the White House surrogate from ‘Morning Joe,’ on the basis that Conway deals in falsehoods and is utterly uninformed about actual White House policy.
Now, the influential newswoman has decided that ‘Morning Joe’s’ ban is not enough. Conway, the woman who infamously invented the term “alternative fact” to whitewash Trump’s demonstrably false lies, is still peddling what Brzezinski aptly termed “b.s.” to media outlets across America.
Brzezinski’s cool, pragmatic approach to journalism is exactly what we need in this era of fake news and White House dishonesty. We hope that other outlets heed her call to action and put a stop to Conway’s role in helping Trump deceive the American public.
