Guess How Much Secret Service Has Spent On Golf Carts Under Trump
Trump’s preference for spending time at his golf courses rather than working in the White House has become common knowledge, with regular weekly jaunts to Mar-a-Lago costing the Secret Service and local government millions in extra security expenses.
Now, new details have emerged that give a clearer insight on how those security dollars are being spent while he’s on the links.
Nathaniel Meyersohn of CNN has uncovered nearly $17 thousand in charges for golf cart rentals by the Secret Service to protect the President while he’s at his gilded resort. The bills from Golf Car & Utility Vehicle Distributors, LLC in Florida consist of three different rental periods that correspond to Trump’s Mar-a-Lago visits and are in addition to another $8,000 spent on “Ground Effect Vehicles, Motor Vehicles, Trailers, and Cycles”.
The company has been a preferred source of government vehicle rentals in Florida for at least 5 years, but it must be pointed out that the total spent with them by the Secret Service over the first 67 days of the Trump Administration already exceeds the total yearly spend during the years President Obama was in office.
These type of expenses, coming from the President who swore that he wouldn’t have time to take vacations, show just how concerned he really is about wasting taxpayer dollars. Not at all.
