A Top Republican Just Accused Kushner Of Trump-Russia Cover Up

Hard on the heels of The New York Times report that two White House officials passed classified intelligence along to House Intelligence Committee Chairman Devin Nunes (R-CA), Republican political strategist Rick Wilson has now linked Jared Kushner, Trump’s son-in-law, and Steve Bannon, White House Strategy Advisor and former-Breitbart executive, to the widening conspiracy.

In a series of tweets earlier today, Republican strategist Rick Wilson made the connections between Ezra Cohen-Watnick and Michael Ellis, the two lower-level White House officials cited in the NY Times article, and the senior members of Trump’s advisory team.

The Times attributed the revelation of Cohen-Watnick’s and Ellis’s involvement to “several current American officials”, pointing to Ellis’s previous role working with Nunes as General Counsel of the House Intelligence Committee and Cohen-Watnik’s hiring by disgraced former National Security Adviser Mike Flynn as strong clues to their participation in the leak.

Wilson took the details from the Times’s story and tweeted the crucial question:

“Who ordered it? Who asked for them to do so? If you think two lower-level guys took it upon themselves to make this play, I’ve got a Nigerian prince with $30 million dollars for you.”

Wilson goes on to reveal that Flynn’s replacement as National Security Adviser, General H. R. McMaster, wanted to fire Flynn’s protege, Cohen-Watnik, to bring in his own appointee, but noted that McMaster was prevented from doing so by Kushner and Bannon because he was “helping run the pushback operation on Russia with Nunes.”

If Wilson’s allegations prove to be true, it should be obvious that Rep. Nunes has been colluding with the White House, where he served as a member of Trump’s transition team, and needs to turn the House Intelligence Committee’s investigation of Russian interference into the presidential election over to an independent prosecutor immediately.
