Somebody, please give Donald Trump a phone number and email address for the FBI so that he doesn’t have to use his public Twitter account to communicate.
That’s what Trump did in the early hours this morning after watching a report on the Fox News Channel show Fox & Friends that once again made the claim he had been the subject of a wiretap by President Obama.

This time, it was a report by Fox News Los Angeles correspondent Adam Housley, who said based on what he called multiple anonymous sources that “there was electronic surveillance of Trump and the people close to Donald Trump, including some supporters for up to a year before inauguration….It’s unprecedented, I’m told, the way this was done.”
The claim that Trump was the subject of surveillance has been debunked by the intelligence community, Congress and yes, even the FBI. However, despite access to all the secret intelligence in the world, Trump prefers to believe what he hears on Fox.
During the campaign, Trump has repeatedly denounced the use of anonymous sources by reporters. However, his administration has provided anonymous sources, and he clearly believes what he hears on Fox, even when it is also based on anonymous sources.
Trump’s lack of respect for the intelligence community which is there to serve him, and his insults to President Obama who had denied Trump’s charges, is nothing but another effort to take public attention away from the very real Russian investigation, his legislative failures, and his plunging poll numbers.
