It is with heavy hearts that we must report that a school shooting has occurred at the North Park Elementary School in San Bernardino, California.
At the moment, preliminary reports indicate that as many as four have been shot – a teacher and two students. The fourth is believed to be the shooter; it is unclear whether or not the wound was self-inflicted. ABC reports that the shooting may be a domestic dispute turned murder-suicide.

The city of San Bernardino is no stranger to gun violence; a brutal terrorist attack in 2015 killed 14 people while the firearm homicide rate jumped by 41% last year, to 62 killings.
The presence of a firearm in a household dramatically increases the likelihood that one partner will kill another. 94% of the victims of murder-suicides are women, making it clear that the blame of intimate partner homicide rests on men.
This is an ongoing story that will be updated as the situation develops.
