Trump Just Bragged About the Kansas House Win. Nate Silver’s Response is Brutal

Yesterday, in a special election to fill Kansas’ 4th District House seat previously held by new CIA Director Mike Pompeo, Republican Ron Estes eked out an 8,000 vote victory over Democrat James Thompson. Despite a massive voter swing to the Democrats, in a district that Pompeo won by 31 points only five months ago, the Commander-in-Chief saw fit to gloat this morning:
Great win in Kansas last night for Ron Estes, easily winning the Congressional race against the Dems, who spent heavily & predicted victory!

Nate Silver, noted numbers genius and editor-in-chief at Five Thirty Eight, was not buying the bluster:
Estes underperformed Trump's margin by 20.3 points. If every district behaved like that, Dems would gain 122 (!) House seats next November. https://t.co/4H9AjAhF84

He threw in one more for good measure.
They'd also win Senate races next year in Texas, Utah and Mississippi (plus Arizona and Nevada).

The outcome of yesterday’s race is disappointing, but the trend is very good news for Democrats. And, as Trump’s willful delusions continue, it seems like he may be the last one to know that his regime is self-destructing.
