Two months into Donald Trump’s presidency, we are still no closer to having the answers we need regarding the Trump campaign’s potentially treasonous collusion with Russian agents and the Republican Party’s role in helping Russia subvert our democratic process.

As the truth emerges that House Intelligence Committee Chairman Rep. Devin Nunes’ (R-CA) efforts to give credence to Trump’s outrageous assertions that his camp had been illegally wiretapped were nothing but a partisan smokescreen that ended up implicating Trump and his cronies even further, the need for a special prosecutor to get to the bottom of this scandal is more pressing than ever.

The veterans group VoteVets agrees and has just bought commercial time on President Trump’s favorite shows – MSNBC‘s Morning Joe, FOX News’ Fox & Friends, and CNN’s New Day – in order to air this brutal message where they know he’ll see it:

World War II veteran Jay Wenk, who fought in General Patton’s army in Europe, addresses Trump’s assertion that the notoriously politically incorrect general would be “shocked if he were alive today.” Wenk agrees with that statement, insofar as Patton would be aghast if he knew that his Commander-in-Chief was accused of colluding with a hostile foreign power and was potentially guilty of treason.

“The thing he’d be most shocked by is YOU” finishes the powerful clip. He’s absolutely right. We need a special prosecutor to reveal the truth about Trump and his connections to the Russian Federation, and if Trump has nothing to hide, as he says he does, he should be welcoming the opportunity to put all this behind him and reclaim the legitimacy that his obfuscation denies him.
