Trump’s Son Just Maliciously Mocked LGBT Students And It Immediately Backfired
Today, as his father was launching unprecedented assaults on women, Afghanistan, and basic sanitation, Donald Trump Jr. decided — without provocation — to attack students in the LGBT community.
The First Son was responding to student opposition to a planned Chick-Fil-A on Duquesne University campus. The restaurant has come under fire repeatedly over the last decade for opposing equal rights protections for LGBT Americans.
“Chick-fil-A has a questionable history on civil rights and human rights,” Niko Martini, a Student Government Association Senator at Large, wrote to the Duquesne Duke. “I think it’s imperative the university chooses to do business with organizations that coincide with the [university’s] mission and expectations they give students regarding diversity and inclusion.”
Many praised activists for taking the stand, but for the President’s son, this made them a target for public ridicule:
Luckily these students wont likely have to tackle issues more stressful than a yummy chicken sandwich in their lives… Oh Wait #triggered https://t.co/NRLtsHBSLn

While the younger Trump tried to cowardly hide behind social media, Twitter returned his venom in full:

Your complete obliviousness to oppression and the plight of others is so baffling. You are so far removed and privileged beyond belief.

also, your family are among the softest cowards this country has to offer, so you might want to reconsider the tact that others have it easy

There can be no doubt that mocking students fighting for equality is an egregious abuse of Donald Jr.’s inherited influence, and it’s also an important reminder of why protective measures are necessary for our country’s minority populations.
Even in the highest reaches of power, there are bullies with nothing better to do than pick fights with the historically oppressed. Sad.
