There is nothing new about America’s First Family celebrating libraries, but it feels less than genuine when it comes from the family of a President who has called for the elimination of federal library funding.
Nevertheless, Ivanka Trump tweeted this message in an attempt to commemorate National Library Week:

The hypocrisy was not lost on librarian, Margaret Howard who tweeted this poignant comeback:

This was a bold and accurate move from one of America’s many hardworking librarians. No amount of platitudes can make up for the cruel acts of the Trump regime and the cronies who enable them.
