Bernie & The DNC Just Launched A Nationwide Tour To Take Down Trump

The Democratic National Committee (DNC) is under new leadership and  Senator Bernie Sanders (VT-I) likes what he sees. Today, Sanders and DNC Chair Tom Perez are kicking off a national “unity tour” to signal that they are very much on the same page in opposing President Trump and moving the country toward a progressive future that works for every American.

“Donald Trump isn’t shaking things up. He’s shaking American families down. And Democrats won’t let him get away with it,” said Perez. “That’s why I’m hitting the road next week with Senator Bernie Sanders to speak with folks across the country about how we can come together and fight back for our values.”

Unlike Republicans, who could not garner enough support in their own party to even hold a vote on their number one campaign pledge, repealing Obamacare, Democrats have never been more united. Now, these two leaders are traveling through moderate and Republican-leaning states to make sure everyone sees the accord firsthand and understands that Democrats are the only major party who will stand up for America’s working families.

The first stop is in Maine, and it looks like a strong opener to say the least. The event had to stop taking signups due to overwhelming demand:

After Maine, the pair will continue on through Kentucky, Maine, Florida, Utah, Montana, Nevada, Arizona and Nebraska, which have experienced a similar boon of interest early.

Senator Sanders believes that this is only the start of a phenomenon that is sweeping the country. “What you’re seeing in Kansas, what you’re seeing in Georgia, I believe you’re going to see it in Montana, I believe you’re going to see it all over this country; in the many so-called red states, working people are going to wake up and say, wait a second,” he said. “Republicans want to cut Social Security, Medicare, Medicaid and education, and they want to give hundreds of billions of dollars in tax breaks to the top 1 percent.”

With his obsession with crowd size, Trump will not be happy about the attention Sanders and Perez are drawing. Unlike his low inauguration attendance  however, he has real reason for concern this time. As disastrous first hundred days nears a close, Americans around the country are increasingly eager to fight back against his destructive agenda.

Now, even Republicans  will see that Democrats have a united team ready to force change.
