Today, President Barack Obama made his first public speech since the Inauguration of Donald Trump, and Twitter noticed some pretty stark differences between the two.
The event served as a much needed reminder that a 21st Century President could speak eloquently, thoughtfully, and with no malice — without even falsely attacking opponents. Twitter responded with a flurry of bittersweet tweets, some heart-wrenching and others hilarious.
On the one hand, absence does not always make the heart grow fonder. On the other hand, replacing a great leader with a petty tyrant, really really does.

It's so strange watching and listening to President Obama right now. It feels like ages ago that this sense of calm I feel was mundane.

I miss knowing the POTUS was prepared. I may not have always agreed with Obama's decisions, but I knew he did his homework & trusted him.
