A Trump administration leak to Foreign Policy reveals that President Trump wants to strip away all funding from the crucial State Department program that promotes women’s rights and empowerment around the world.
The Office of Global Women’s Affairs was founded in 1995 with a “mandate to promote the rights and empowerment of women and girls through U.S. foreign policy” and an Ambassador-at-Large to advance women’s issues. Trump wants to literally de-fund women’s rights by writing this agency out of the State Department budget.
Meanwhile, Ivanka Trump’s speech at today’s W-20 conference was a lie-filled defense of her indefensible father and said nothing about stripping away funding to benefit women’s rights around the world. Yahoo reports:
“I’m very proud of my father’s advocacy,” the first daughter said during a panel discussion on women’s economic empowerment, drawing audible scoffs from the audience. “He’s been a tremendous champion of supporting families and enabling them to thrive.”
“I’ve certainly heard the criticism from the media, and that’s been perpetuated,” she said. “But I know from personal experience. And I think the thousands of women who have worked with and for my father for decades when he was in the private sector are a testament to his belief and solid conviction in the potential of women and their ability to do the job.”
Today’s leak from the Trump administration shows that the President plans to whack women’s rights funding while his children and their trust-fund baby husbands fly around the globe on official business, instead of career diplomats.

Her brand’s tagline is Women Who Work, but she doesn’t fight for a living wage for all female workers and manufactures her clothing overseas in countries where workers are often mistreated. She’s proud to be a wife and mother, but hasn’t made a peep about this country’s disgraceful maternal mortality rate, especially among women of color.”
Ivanka Trump isn’t implicated in her father’s Russiagate investigation, but her gender treason stands out in the Trump White House as evidence of naked moral bankruptcy, which is saying a lot considering the rogue’s gallery occupying America’s executive branch of government.
Shockingly, Ivanka Trump still professes not to know the meaning of the word “complicit” while simultaneously defining the phrase for all time by blatantly ignoring Trump’s devastating cuts to the State Department’s Office of Global Women’s Affairs.
