Yale Republicans Just Disrupted A Union Protest In The Cruelest Way Possible
Grad students at Yale University have been fighting with the school for three years to negotiate a contract establishing critical protections for their student workers.
Eight students have been fasting for nearly a hundred hours in a hunger strike to show the school that they mean business. Their demands? “Adequate health care coverage, equal pay, a safer working environment for women and increased diversity initiatives.”
In response, the “Young Republicans” of Yale decided to hold a barbecue close to the hunger strikers with the sole purpose of taunting them as they took a brave stand against an uncaring university.

The association of young douchebags got the idea from far-right Israelis, who did the same thing to torture Palestinians in prison who were on a hunger-strike.

The grad students say that Yale is just waiting for Trump to appoint anti-labor leaders to the National Labor Relations Board, who will likely shut down their demands.
“The irony isn’t lost on me that a bunch of guys were having a party wearing Trump shirts just 50 feet away from from the administration that’s waiting for the Trump administration to bail them out,” says striker Charles Decker.
“There are no breaks, and we don’t eat when we’re hungry,” Decker said. “We’re going to keep going until the administration comes to continue, or we can’t continue for medical reasons. I assure you, we’re very hungry.”
To see this kind of unnecessary and spiteful cruelty from the next generation of conservatives who have the white privilege, the financial support, and the streak of sadism required to become a Republican leader does not bode well for the future of our political system.
