In tonight’s opening monologue, Bill Maher, the host of “Real Time with Bill Maher” on HBO, took a hilarious shot at Trump and Paul Ryan.
Maher bemoans the fact that “after [Republicans] kicked 24 million people, or more, off healthcare, they threw a big party in the Rose Garden to celebrate it.” He cuts to a clip of perhaps the most homogeneous group of people imaginable. “Look at all these white assholes,” Maher comments as a sea of middle-aged white men congratulate each other for having taken health insurance away from millions of Americans.
He continues:
“Trump got carried away and grabbed a pussy… Paul Ryan.”
He was referring to the Speak of the House, Paul Ryan (R-WI), who orchestrated the voting effort despite Obamacare’s surging popularity. Rather than be a leader for vulnerable Americans, Ryan decided instead to curry favor with his boss. Like Maher, I’d also say that qualifies him as a pussy.
