“Go F*ck Yourselves” Bill Maher Just Shredded “Liberal Purists” Who Didn’t Vote Hillary
Comedian Bill Maher used his show last night to give a well-deserved scolding to the “liberal purists” who claimed that Democratic nominee Hillary Clinton and President Donald Trump were two sides of the same coin and that Clinton was only the “lesser of two evils.”
Calling out three prominent liberals in particular, he reminded them that “it’s about winning the next election and that begins with learning the difference between an imperfect friend and a deadly enemy.”
He begins his tirade with Green Party candidate Jill Stein, who said that “one [of the candidates] is death by gunshot wound and the other is death by strangulation.” Maher, growing serious, remarks that “With Trump in charge and a racist attorney general, we’re going to get a lot more of both.”
Moving on to Cornel West, he criticized the famous leftist for arguing that Trump will be a neo-fascist disaster and Clinton will be a neoliberal catastrophe.
“I don’t even know what a neo-liberal catastrophe means but isn’t it better than a neo-fascist one? Have you people lost your f*cking minds?”
He saved his full fury, however, for NSA whistleblower Edward Snowden, who earns the unenviable trophy for the Absolute Worst Take of the Entire 2016 Election:
Maher really laid into him over this one:
“Yeah so what happened? The anti-Wall Street crowd who were too pure to vote for Hillary ended up putting Goldman Sachs people as Trump’s top political strategist, the head of the Economic Council, and the Treasury Secretary – the trifecta. The only people Trump hasn’t hired from Goldman Sachs are Goldman and Sachs.”
He finishes with grim vision of the future that may be soon upon us:
“Just wait until the 5 to 4 decisions start rolling in, gutting unions, making it harder for minorities to vote, siding with polluters, overturning abortion rights. Then maybe you’ll join me in saying to the liberal purists: Go f*ck yourselves with a locally-grown organic cucumber.”
