On the heels of yesterday’s Yates hearing, Trump was feeling particularly vulnerable. After sending out a slew of desperate tweets, Trump realized that he needed to take the attention off of himself.
Taking a page out of the House of Cards playbook, Trump “killed and threw them something fresher.”
James Comey was in the spotlight for being the man in charge of investigating Trump’s possible collusion with Russia. After yesterday’s hearing, this issue was once again catapulted into the national discussion. Today’s firing, though, delivers a major blow to the prospects of a fair, nonpartisan investigation into Trump and his illegal dealings with Russia.
After today’s actions, it is fair to say that Donald Trump is on par with Frank Underwood.
