As news broke that Donald Trump fired James Comey, the man who was leading an investigation in his possible illegal actions with Russia, many people drew comparisons to the current President and Nixon.
The Richard Nixon Library twitter account, though, was quick to distance itself from Trump’s nefarious activities.

Even Nixon, who was ultimately forced to resign the Presidency in disgrace after the Watergate scandal, never stooped to the level that Donald Trump reached today. By firing the person in charge of leading the investigation into his own illegal activities, Trump took a blatantly transparent step to protect himself.
Trump must know it’s bad when even the ghost of Nixon doesn’t want anything to do with him.
