Putin Was Just Asked About Trump’s Comey Firing, And He Didn’t Like It

Following President Trump’s abrupt firing of FBI Director James Comey, CBS News’ Elizabeth Palmer caught up with Russian President Vladimir Putin to ask how the development might affect U.S.-Russia relations.

Putin’s thoughts are of particular interest as Comey’s FBI was in the midst of an investigation into Trump’s collusion with Russian officials in order to sway last year’s Presidential Election.

“There will be no effect,” Putin said through an interpreter. “Your question looks very funny for me. Don’t be angry with me. We have nothing to do with that. President Trump is acting in accordance with his confidence and in accordance with his law and constitution.”

Putin ended the interview by glaring at the reporter with a grin and telling her that he was about to go play hockey. He added, “I invite you to do the same.

Palmer politely declined.
