Following the bombshell report that Trump asked then-FBI Director James Comey to end the FBI’s investigation into Mike Flynn, Seth Meyers denounced the President as “deeply unfit for the office” on the “A Closer Look” segment of Late Night.

“So Trump fired Comey thinking that would get rid of him,” Meyers said. “And instead, he just freed up Comey to start telling everybody what he knows. That’s like cutting out your victims tongue and forgetting he can still write stuff down. It’s like handcuffing somebody to a rolling chair. Just because you put him behind the couch doesn’t mean he’s not there anymore.”
“We need Republicans to stand up and do something because right now we’ve got a President who is deeply unfit for the office.”
The fact that Seth Meyers, a late night talk show host, realizes that Trump is not fit to serve as President while the entire Republican Party continues to bury its head in the sand is not only troubling, but goes against our democratic principles. With Trump’s impeachment prospects increasing by the day, though, his shills in Congress will undoubtedly go down with his sinking ship.
