Yet another disturbing revelation indicates that Lt. Gen. Michael Flynn was still actively operating as a foreign agent on behalf of Recep Tayyip Erdogan, dictator of Turkey, barely a week before the inauguration.
Ten days before Trump took power, President Obama’s National Security Advisor Susan Rice informed the Trump transition team of the Pentagon’s plan to work with the coalition of the Syrian Democratic Forces, which include the Rojavan Kurdish People’s Protection Units (YPG/YPJ), in an offensive to liberate the Syrian city of Raqqa from Daesh (ISIS/ISIL).
Turkey, which is currently waging a vicious ethnic cleansing campaign against the Kurdish populations of southeast Turkey and northeast Syria, does not want to see the YPG gain control of any more territory in Syria, any more international recognition for the incredible heroism they’ve shown in the war against Daesh, or encourage any kind of Kurdish self-determination at all.
So, on behalf of Turkey, Flynn ordered Susan Rice to hold off, delaying the mission by months. President Trump, who made defeating Daesh by day 100 one of his campaign promises, was so out of the loop that he never realized that his NSA specifically delayed an attack on the Daeshi capital.
To put it another way: Michael Flynn acted on the behalf of a foreign nation to interfere with a military mission in the interests of the foreign policy of the United States in exchange for money, a move which even some members of Congress are calling “treason.”
The Pentagon’s plan was finally approved by the Trump administration weeks after Flynn was fired, and the SDF’s assault has made remarkable progress into the heartland of Daesh’s territory.
Tonight, the news broke that Trump and his transition team were informed of Flynn’s arrangement with Ankara but appointed him National Security Advisor anyway, giving a man in the pay of a foreign government access to our nation’s most classified national security information.
If as Flynn himself suggested so vocally, Hillary Clinton deserved to be locked up for her mishandling of lightly classified information, what punishment does Michael Flynn deserve for his crimes?
