After one of the most controversial weeks of Trump’s presidency, Melissa McCarthy’s return to SNL to impersonate Sean Spicer was highly anticipated. She, of course, did not disappoint:
The hilarious Saturday Night Live sketch featured McCarthy seamlessly zipping around New York City on a mobile podium. In actuality, the shoot wasn’t so easy. The video below shows that the day of filming was rife with outtakes:
There are multiple points in which fans can be heard yelling “Spicey!” from the New York streets, a testament to how McCarthy’s Spicer has grown into such a viral sensation.
This was Melissa McCarthy’s fifth time hosting SNL, and fourth time impersonating the embattled Press Secretary.
Rumors have been circulating quite widely that Trump is considering replacing Sean Spicer. In Sean’s defense, though, the President is going to be hard-pressed to find anyone who can effectively spin the whirlwind of lies, controversy, and scandal surrounding his White House.
