Former Democratic presidential candidate and Secretary of State John Kerry just spoke at the Harvard Kennedy School’s commencement ceremony, and he had some amusing advice to give those students about to begin their professional lives in Trump’s America:
“I’m often asked what the secret is to have a real impact on government. Well, it’s recently changed. I used to say, either run for office or get a degree from Harvard Kennedy School.
With this White House I’d say, buy Rosetta Stone and learn Russian.
While his jab is obviously tongue-in-cheek, the latest revelations accusing Attorney General Jeff Sessions of lying about his meetings with the Russian ambassador on his security clearance form and the efforts by Russian officials to manipulate members of the Trump team put into sharp relief the painful truth – that this is nowhere near acceptable and while Trump’s constant gaffes may be amusing, we cannot normalize this preposterous state of affairs.
