The highly publicized Georgia special election runoff between Democrat Jon Ossoff and Republican Karen Handel finally arrives on June 20th. Ossoff has made it abundantly clear that he is the better choice. Handel in turn has made a great case for not voting for her by stating that she doesn’t support a livable wage. That is to say, this Republican doesn’t even think her voters have a right to meet their basic needs.
It now turns out that Handel is not only a heartless candidate, but a very strange one. In a debate with Ossoff, Handel just proudly stated that she has “tremendous tentacles.”
Although it would be consistent with her anti-humanist political views, it seems unlikely that Handel is a cephalopod masquerading in a human skin suit in the hopes of seizing the reigns of American political power in her squirming suction-cupped appendages.
More likely it was a freudian slip, and Handel was simply referring to the way she hopes to invade and destroy the fabric of our political culture.
