Arnold Schwarzenegger & France’s President Just Publicly Taunted Trump In A Viral Video
Today, former Republican Governor, Mr. Universe, and movie star Arnold Schwarzenegger visited Elysee Palace in Paris, France, to meet with newly elected French President Emmanuel Macron to discuss what could be done to save our planet from the ravages of climate change.
Taking a timeout from their work (or perhaps as a central part of it), the pair recorded a thinly veiled message to President Trump (video below). Though neither mentioned Trump by name, they made a clear reference to the powerful words at the end of Macron’s response to Trump’s decision to withdraw the US from the Paris climate deal last month.
In that speech, Macron declares, in English, that France will continue to stand with the American people and work to save the Earth, even as Trump betrays our nation’s sacred obligations. He closed defiantly with his now iconic words, “Make our planet great again.”
He repeated those words today on this short selfie video, which Schwarzenegger shared on his twitter account and captioned, “With President Macron, a great leader!”
It’s a sad day when even a moderate Republican understands that he must leave our country’s borders for true leadership from a head of state. We can be grateful though that leaders worldwide are not letting Trump’s destructive acts stand in the way of progress.
Their short message is below:
