Trump Just Stared At The Eclipse Without Protective Glasses. George Takei’s Response Is Perfect
The President of the United States, as if on cue, just ignored all the scientific warnings about retinal damage from staring directly into the sun during today’s full eclipse.
While much of the nation was making jokes about how he would probably do so, given his irrepressible instinct to ignore advice given to him and to do as he pleases just to spite trying to tell him what to do, it was still somewhat stunning to see the president doing the dumbest thing he could have possibly done.
Former Star Trek actor and current LGBT activist George Takei took to Twitter and summed up the President’s actions in this hilarious tweet.
Having served as a lieutenant on the bridge of the U.S.S. Enterprise for at three seasons and six movies, Takei definitely knows a thing or two about eclipses.
The rest of Twitter quickly piled on.
