In the aftermath of Hurricane Harvey, which has ravaged southeast Texas and caused massive flooding in what the National Weather Service calls an “unprecedented” storm, Trump took to Twitter to discuss his favorite topic: himself.

While the citizens of Texas might not find leadership on Trump’s Twitter feed, they will find their daily reminder of his “historic” Electoral College victory. It should be noted that the election was 42 weeks ago. It should be noted, too, that his win, a self-proclaimed “massive landslide,” ranks 46th in 58 elections.

Never one for moderation, Trump went a step further to use a natural disaster to further sow the seeds of division by reiterating his desire for a wall on the Mexican border. This, on a day when many Mexicans, who make up a considerable portion of the Texas population, have been uprooted and are dealing with the devastating consequences of the hurricane.
