Modern conservatism is at its core a mass of jumbled, reactive and inherently self-contradictory mass of selfish emotions and a vastly overblown sense of personal entitlement.
That’s why Trump supporters love to say “f*ck your feelings, call liberals “snowflakes” but then lose their minds and boycott coffee chains, cereal companies, and Shakespeare In The Park over the pettiest of perceived slights.
The right-wing smugly believes they are clever for repackaging their racism and discrimination using the language of “free speech” but cannot stand it when liberals use their free speech to criticize them for their appalling ideas and beliefs.
In one of the most stunning examples of overly sensitive conservatives getting triggered by media criticism, police brutality poster boy Sheriff Joe Arpaio is upset that the media keeps calling him a racist and wants them to stop it, because it hurts his feelings.
Yes, the man who ran what he called a concentration camp for detained immigrants and paraded all his Hispanic prisoners behind an electrified fence is mad that people are calling him a racist.
The “law enforcement” officer who was pardoned because he was so appallingly cruel against nonwhite inmates now blames the media for “mischaracterization,” even though he forced a pregnant Latina woman to give birth in shackles and refused to investigate sex crimes against Hispanic children.
In fact, Arpaio was convicted of criminal contempt of court because he specifically refused to obey a court order telling him to stop racially profiling Hispanic people simply based on the color of their skin – but like most conservatives, Arpaio apparently has a very selective memory when it comes to the deplorable behavior that earned him a top spot in the running for the most despicable American alive.
So in order to ensure that the suffering endured by the innocent immigrants in Arpaio’s detention centers is never forgotten, let’s make sure to spread the disturbing accounts of his racist behavior as widely as we can.
