After Trump signaled that he would end the “humane and popular” Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA) program, legendary journalist Dan Rather issued a statement on Facebook slamming the President’s actions as, above all else, “un-American.”
Rather schools Trump – who has proven himself utterly inept when it comes to American history – in our nation’s storied relationship with immigrants. He then goes further by casting doubt on the longevity of this inhumane policy.
“In the end, I do not believe that this will be the long-term destiny of the United States. I believe there already is a broad backlash across this nation not limited to members of one ethnic group or political party. All that may indeed come to pass, but in the meantime real lives are going to be hurt.”
Rather ends not only by eviscerating Trump as hypocritical and callous, but offering a Bible verse for a President who likes to consider himself – despite all evidence to the contrary – a true Christian.
“Judge not, that ye be not judged. For with what judgment ye judge, ye shall be judged: and with what measure ye mete, it shall be measured to you again.”
