Joy Reid Just Responded To Trump’s DACA Repeal By Fingering The Culprit

The word is out that Trump has made his decision to end DACA, the Deferred Action on Childhood Arrivals program launched by President Obama to protect undocumented children who were brought into the country by their parents.

A report today in Politico details a Sunday afternoon meeting where the final decision was made, and credits Attorney General Jeff Sessions with convincing the president that immigration law needs to be initiated by Congress rather than the executive branch.

MSNBC host Joy Reid did not fail to notice this detail of the story. She immediately took to Twitter to comment:

With Sessions status in Trump’s eyes uncertain after Trump announced that he would never have offered the Attorney General position to the former Alabama Senator had he known that Sessions would recuse himself from the Russia election hacking investigation, this insider perspective shows that he still carries enough influence to tip a White House debate.

While that may be surprising itself, Sessions’ ideas on immigration have always been as far to the right as Trump’s, hence Joy Reid’s lack of shock.

Be prepared to hear more responses to Trump’s latest anti-immigrant crackdown when the official announcement of the decision is expected to be made on Tuesday.
