Trump Just Nominated A Federal Judge Who Legalized ‘Upskirt’ Sex Crimes

Today, Trump announced his 16 new judicial nominees and one of them went out of her way in 2016 to protect sexual predator, Brandon Lee Gary.

Judge Elizabeth Lisa Branch of Georgia, whom accused sexual predator, Donald Trump, just nominated to the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Eleventh Circuit,  turns out to have written the majority opinion overturning the 2013 conviction of a grocery store clerk who was shooting video up the skirts of women shopping in the store where he worked.

The practice, known as “upskirting,” is currently all over the news in England, with a major push underway to classify it as a sex crime, as it is in Australia, New Zealand, and Scotland.  It is already considered a crime in many, but not all, American states.

The majority opinion Judge Branch authored did not classify the grocery clerk’s voyeurism as a crime because the “use of any device to record or observe the activities of another ‘in any private place and out of public view” would be a crime.  But “the majority found that a grocery store is neither a private place nor out of view.

As a result of that decision, “upskirting” is now legal in Georgia.

The move by the Trump administration is a clear sign that they have no intention of slowing down their assault on women’s rights and undermining social efforts to confront the epidemic of sexual assault, which the President himself has openly boasted of committing himself.
