9/11 is a painful day for Americans, but it’s also a time when our national unity feels stronger than usual. On this day we are united by our shared trauma, and strengthened by our shared resolve. We remember the sacrifices thousands of Americans made on that day and in the following years to defend our freedoms.
Rather than focus on the selfless patriotism of these men and women, Donald Trump has decided to use today to draw attention to himself and his turgid ego. Trump released a “memorial” video on Twitter that mostly consistents of shots of himself. It’s a weird, tone-deaf piece of propaganda that attempts to paint the reality television as a patriot, despite all the evidence to the contrary.
Like most things bearing the Trump brand, it’s a tawdry mess, complete with strange, almost horror movie type fades to black and weird angles of our grandstanding commander-in-chief.

On days like today, one can’t help but be especially dismayed that we are lead by such an incompetent ignoramus. One shudders to think how the country would deal with a terror attack now that the man in the Oval Office is such a cowardly, xenophobic cretin.
