Sheriff David Clarke has been one of Trump’s most vocal supporters, supporting some of the president’s worst decisions, going as far as to appear on television to defend them. Clarke has attacked Planned Parenthood and Black Lives Matter in the past in blatant efforts to panders to Trump’s hateful base.
One of the most egregious stains on his record is an incident in which an inmate of his jail gave birth in her cell, resulting in the death of the child. In other words, Clarke is a perfect bedfellow for a man as detestable as Trump.
As it turns out, Clarke’s immorality isn’t relegated solely to his odious political views, but also extends to his personal life. He has faced accusations that he plagiarized his Master’s thesis— “Making U.S. security and privacy rights compatible” — at the Naval Postgraduate School.
Now, CNN has revealed that Clarke must revise his thesis to remove the plagiarized segments or risk losing his degree. The news network acquired the documents that revealed the ultimatum through a Freedom of Information Act request.
The dean of the school in question has stated that the thesis was in violation of their honor code. Clarke has until October 23rd to submit his revised thesis.
Last month, Clarke resigned from his sheriff position to accept a job at a pro-Trump Super PAC. He’s decided to double down on his support for the worst president in American history.
