In 1980, a country music star, a comedian, and a legendary actress teamed up to make a women’s empowerment tour-de-force with the hit film 9 to 5.
Dolly Parton, Lily Tomlin, and Jane Fonda’s dark comedy gave inspiration to a generation of women in the work place as they unleashed their true potential in male-dominated world.
Turns out, the trio was just getting started. Tonight at the Emmys, in a surprise reunion, nominees Tomlin and Fonda (Grace & Frankie) teamed with Parton to unleash a not-so-subtle jab at President Trump (below).
Thought they never mention Trump by name, there is no doubt which chauvinistic hypocrite they are talking about, and these women do not pull their punches.
Neither age nor a fascist in the White House seem to be slowing these women down. Bad news for Donald Trump. They’re helping to fire up a whole new generation of women. The best thing Trump could do for himself is to get out of their way.
