CNN invites Corey Lewandowski for interview hours after he brags about lying to the media
The behavior of certain corporate media outlets in the Trump era is truly bewildering to behold. Against all better judgment and seemingly unable to learn any lessons from their clashes with the mendacious and supremely contemptuous minions of the Trump team, the mainstream media appears hungrier for any shred of relevant content than lifting a finger to stop enabling the president’s minions and their assault on the truth.
That’s the only conclusion that we can draw after CNN decided to invite former Trump campaign manager and accused sexual harasser Corey Lewandowski to appear on their network literally one day after he brazenly declared that he was under “no obligation to be honest with the media” during his dumpster fire of a Congressional hearing yesterday.

After watching his appalling and enormously childish behavior towards the United States Congress yesterday, one would be hard-pressed to think he deserved to be given yet another platform to spout his lies and antagonize the media on behalf of Donald Trump and his allies, but right on cue there he was, joining CNN’s New Day show where he made grand statements about what the Mueller Report said before admitting that he never read it.
Corey Lewandowski: The Mueller report was very clear. There was no collusion. There was no obstruction.
Alisyn Camerota: That's not what the Mueller report said, Corey.
Corey: It absolutely says that…
Alisyn: … Did you read the Mueller report?

When challenged on his remarks about lying to the media, Corey refused to answer and instead launched into a screed about how all the other guests on CNN are actually all lying, talking over his interviewer and bullying her into a corner with a barrage of complaints about how CNN contributor and former FBI deputy Andrew McCabe is the subject of a Trump Justice Department criminal probe.

Absolutely nothing was accomplished with this interview except the creation of a clip for right-wing Twitter to take viral with a headline like “Corey Lewandowski OWNS Fake News CNN Journalist With Epic Takedown.”
In a media landscape that worships ratings and profit margins, journalistic integrity and the duty to inform the public has been trampled in the rush to please shareholders. Why else would outlets like CNN keep giving a platform to known liars and disingenuous propagandists like Kellyanne Conway, or Sarah Huckabee Sanders, or Corey Lewandowski, or any of the other myriad ghouls that emerge from the depths of the White House? They’re doing a disservice to the public and to their profession by allowing Trump’s goons a platform to spread his lies, especially when they tell you they are going to do so!
