Trump lashes out at “Little Adam Schiff” and accuses whistleblower of partisan bias in projecting tweet

Donald Trump unleashed another Twitter outburst this morning focused on his growing whistleblower scandal. The anonymous individual filed a formal complaint which allegedly contains multiple instances of disturbing behavior on the president’s part, including a promise made over the phone to the leader of a foreign country, which some reports state could have been Ukraine.

Speculation has exploded, with a popular vein of suspicion being that Trump promised something to Ukraine in exchange for them opening an investigation into his possible 2020 opponent, former Vice President Joe Biden. Whatever it is, the White House’s efforts to squelch the complaint would seem to indicate deeply damaging material.

Dusting off some of his shopworn smears, Trump attacked the “Radical Left Democrats” and their “Fake News Media Partners” who he says are being led by “Little Adam Schiff,” his demeaning nickname for Rep. Adam Schiff (D-CA), the Chairman of the House Intelligence Committee. Schiff has been spearheading the efforts to get Director of National Intelligence Joseph Maguire to hand over the whistleblower’s complaint.

The president insisted that his political enemies are “batting Zero for 21” against him, despite the litany of scandals and crimes that have already been exposed and which are surely contributing to his anemic polling numbers against most Democrats going into 2020.

“They think I may have had a ‘dicey’ conversation with a certain foreign leader based on a ‘highly partisan’ whistleblowers [sic] statement,” Trump went on. It must be pointed out that there is absolutely no evidence that the whistleblower is acting out of partisan animus. Trump is simply accusing him or her of such in an effort to undermine whatever is in the complaint. He even admitted that he doesn’t know the identity of the whistleblower, so he has no real idea what the individual’s motivations are. Of course, everything Trump does is motivated solely by egotism and partisanship, so he’s pathologically incapable of imagining others acting for any reason other than self-interest.

In a pathetic effort to exonerate himself, Trump claimed that it was “strange” that other people who heard the phone call have not come forward. He claimed this is because there was “nothing said wrong, it was pitch perfect.” This line of reasoning is, to be generous, incredibly unconvincing. It’s entirely possible that many more members of the intel community were unsettled by Trump’s behavior but were too afraid to speak up out of fear of reprisal from this infamously vindictive administration. In any case, the American people have a right to know what their president is doing and the White House must release the complaint immediately.
