President Trump astounded the nation this morning when the White House released the highly anticipated transcript of his call with the Ukranian President Volodymyr Zelensky. It quite clearly shows Trump asking Zelensky to “do him a favor” after Zelensky mentioned a military purchase about this whole “Joe Biden thing.”
The incredibly damning transcript shows Trump saying that “”I would like you to find out what happened with this whole situation in Ukraine … There’s a lot of talk about Biden’s son, that Biden stopped the prosecution and a lot of people want to find out about that. So whatever you can do with the attorney general would be great. Biden went around bragging that he stopped the prosecution so if you can look into it … it sounds horrible to me.”
The “whole situation in Ukraine” involves a legal but ethically dubious influence-peddling incident in which Joe Biden’s son Hunter earned $50,000 for sitting on the board of a Ukranian natural gas company while his father touted natural gas as a “bridge fuel” and served as the Obama administration’s “point man” on US-Ukranian relations.
Trump is accused of having withheld hundreds of millions of dollars in military aid from Ukraine in order to get them to legitimize the conspiracy theory that Biden abused his power as Vice-President to get a Ukranian prosector fired in order to protect his son, which is demonstrably false.
It goes without saying that the leveraging of American taxpayer aid to a foreign country in order to coerce that government into helping you trash your election opponent is a wild abuse of power and an impeachable offense. But it seems like the President doesn’t really understand that because he appears to be extremely confused that the release of this transcript isn’t exonerating him from any wrongdoing.

He took to Twitter this morning and complained that the Democrats should apologize after seeing his “perfect call” with the Ukranian president.

At the United Nations, he called it “the single greatest witch hunt in American history.”
Pres Trump says the investigation of his phone call with Pres Zelenskiy is "the single greatest witch hunt in American history." He insist no pressure was put on Zelensky to cooperate. Dismisses the conversation as "a nothing call." Again calls on other nations to assist Ukraine. pic.twitter.com/59Ib7xF9Oi

For their part, Democrats are reportedly “gobsmacked” that the President released this transcript in this form, since it appears to corroborate all the accusations against him while tying in both his lawyer Rudy Giuliani and Attorney General William Barr.
the few democrats i’ve spoken to since this came out are absolutely gobsmacked that the White House released this.

The case for impeachment against the president is somehow even stronger than it was yesterday, thanks to the short-sightedness of the President and his idiot minions.
