Trump tears into “human scum” NeverTrump Republicans in furious Twitter outburst

President Trump is starting to sweat through his ill-fitting suit. It now seems all but certain that he will be impeached in the House over his staggeringly corrupt efforts to leverage the power of the Oval Office to coerce the Ukrainian president into opening a damaging investigation into Joe Biden ahead of the 2020 election and there’s little he can do about it.
As Pentagon and State Department officials have begun to give testimony to House committees as part of the probe, it’s become clear how deeply rotted through this administration is. Just yesterday, former United States Ambassador to Ukraine William Taylor testified that continued U.S. aid to the wartorn Eastern European nation was explicitly dependent on the opening of a Biden investigation.
Put simply, President Trump was willing to abuse the unparalleled powers of the American state—possibly causing brave Ukrainian soldiers to die fighting Russian proxies in the process—if it meant improved chances for his presidential reelection bid. In doing so he deliberately worked to undermine our democracy and betrayed sacred his oath to the Constitution.
Once he’s impeached in the House, the task will then fall to the Republican-controlled Senate to put him on trial and vote on whether or not he should be removed from office. While it still seems likely that most of the GOP, led by Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-KY), will circle the wagons around their blatantly corrupt president, even a small contingent of Republican senators voting against Trump could prove deeply damaging in the runup to the election. Senator Mitt Romney (R-UT) has emerged as a possible leader for this theoretical GOP rebellion, and Trump has been attacking him over his criticism of the Ukraine debacle.
Based on his tweets today, Trump seems deeply concerned about his Senate firewall crumbling. The president railed against the “Never Trumper Republicans” even though, according to him, they’re “on respirators.” He claimed that members of the GOP who don’t support him are “in certain ways worse and more dangerous” than Democrats and warned his followers that they are “human scum.”

If he’s trying to convince them to support him during impeachment proceedings, insulting them in such a crude way is a less-than-advisable stratagem.
The Never Trumper Republicans, though on respirators with not many left, are in certain ways worse and more dangerous for our Country than the Do Nothing Democrats. Watch out for them, they are human scum!

Clearly perturbed by William Taylor’s testimony yesterday, Trump went on to smear him as a “Never Trumper Diplomat” and insisted that he doesn’t know him personally. The president also singled out John Bellinger, the former George W. Bush official who is representing Taylor during the impeachment inquiry. He went on to whine about the perfectly legal and reasonable Democratic-led impeachment inquiry and once again lied that there was no quid pro quo offer to Ukraine.
Never Trumper Republican John Bellinger, represents Never Trumper Diplomat Bill Taylor (who I don’t know), in testimony before Congress! Do Nothing Democrats allow Republicans Zero Representation, Zero due process, and Zero Transparency….

….Does anybody think this is fair? Even though there was no quid pro quo, I’m sure they would like to try. Worse than the Dems!

The president ended his little outburst by saying that the Trump administration—which is to say the administration over which he holds ultimate power—should stop hiring Never Trumpers. The entire tweetstorm was equal parts pathetic and reeking of helplessness.
Trump knows his days are numbered and all he can do now is tweet about it.
It would be really great if the people within the Trump Administration, all well-meaning and good (I hope!), could stop hiring Never Trumpers, who are worse than the Do Nothing Democrats. Nothing good will ever come from them!
