George Conway smacks down “disgrace” Don Jr. after he’s accused of “embarrassing his wife”

The President’s oldest son found himself at the end of an unwelcome mention in today’s impeachment hearings against his father by a White House senior advisor’s husband, the sharp-tongued conservative legal scholar George Conway.

House Intelligence Committee Chairman Adam Schiff (D-CA) singled out Donald Trump Jr. by name in his opening remarks, admonishing him for his role in promoting a smear campaign against career foreign service officer and former Ukraine Ambassador Marie Yovanovitch which led to her recall in May, only hours before the swearing-in of that nation’s new president.

Conway made a rare TV appearance earlier this week as an MSNBC commentator during the first impeachment hearing made national headlines after he said,  “This is about putting the country, the law, truth, above partisanship.”

But when the attorney whose spouse works in the White House wrote an accurate viral tweet about the patriotic service of the first three impeachment hearings witnesses that quoted Don Jr.’s callous call to fire public servants, the president’s eldest son got triggered. Conway wrote:

Trump Jr. replied by launching into a vicious attack against Conway, whose conservative credentials include a key role in the last presidential impeachment proceedings as the winner of the landmark case Clinton vs. Jones which established that even a President can be held to account by a civil lawsuit.

Don Jr. weakly tried to defend Kellyanne Conway’s honor, reminding readers that she had a complete meltdown live on CNN with Wolf Blitzer yesterday morning when he played some of her husband’s remarks and asked her for comment.

Typically, Trump Jr. projected onto George Conway what he uses politics for, which was to build a brand through national television appearances, and not in any way for public service.

The lawyer ripped Donald Trump Jr. apart with his first reply.

Conway’s second retort was devastating to the second-generation trust fund baby Trump Jr.

Then, Trump Jr. rolled out another lie, claiming that Conway was desperate for a job in his father’s administration when the reporting on that matter is crystal clear because it comes from his wife, who is still a senior White House advisor.

George Conway withdrew his name from consideration voluntarily. Facts haven’t stopped President Trump from lying about him for years, and the conservative lawyer’s retort noted it.

Don Jr. stopped responding after the self-made lawyer son of immigrants George Conway totally eviscerated him as a spoiled, rich brat and a liar, who projects his defects onto others.

So, Trump Jr. did what Trumps do, had one of their hired servants hop into the breach and do the dirty work they’re just not capable of doing. Trump 2020 campaign manager Brad Parscale who shamelessly pretended that the president’s son was right when he’s just making up the typical, baselessness smears that are the hallmark of his family’s brazen brand.

At that point, the feud drew outside attention and other Republicans ripped Donald Trump Jr. apart with cutting, but wholly factual remarks, including GOP primary contender former Rep. Joe Walsh.

Ultimately, today’s impeachment hearing with Ambassador Yovanovitch mentioned Donald Trump Jr. by name three times, twice by its chair and when House Intel Committee counsel Daniel Goldman asked about his tweet of a conspiracy theory story from The Hill‘s John Solomon. Yovanovitch replied:

“After the tweets that you just showed us, I mean, it seemed to me that if the president’s son is saying things like this, that it would be very hard continuing my position and have authority in Ukraine unless the state department came out pretty strongly behind him. and so over the weekend—it was like March 22—there was a lot of discussion on e-mail among a number of people about what could be done. [T]he undersecretary for political affairs called me on Sunday, and I said it’s really important that the secretary himself, out and be supportive. because otherwise, it’s hard for me to be the kind of representative you need here. [H]e said he would talk to the Secretary [Pompeo], and that, that’s my recollection of the call. that may not be exactly how it played out but that was my recollection.”

However, the Secretary of State never issued a statement backing the Ambassador for fear that a Trump tweet would undermine their efforts.

One would imagine that Donald Trump Jr. might want to lay low while his public machinations to sabotage America’s foreign policy with smears are on full public display.

Like father like son, Don Jr. instead tried to use his Twitter account to fix the problem and instead made the situation a whole lot worse for himself by getting publicly embarrassed at by George Conway’s quick wit which laid bare his mendacious ambition.
