Trump pushes Giuliani under the bus in new interview: He’s got lots of clients in Ukraine

The moment that any serious student of the behavior of Donald Trump has been expecting has finally come.

No one who has examined Trump’s life and his conduct when in a stressful and dangerous situation has ever expected him to take responsibility for any misdeeds he may have committed.

After all, while Michael Cohen — his personal attorney from his Trump Organization days and from the beginning months of his current administration — languishes in prison after pleading guilty to eight counts of campaign finance violations, tax fraud, and bank fraud, “Individual 1,” referred to in Cohen’s indictment as his co-conspirator and assumed to be the president, is ensconced in the White House.

Add your name to tell Congress to investigate Pence for his role in Trump’s Ukraine corruption. The VP is complicit!

Now it looks like Cohen’s replacement as Trump’s personal lawyer, Rudy Guliani, is facing his turn to be thrown under the bus by the president.

Appearing by phone on the radio show hosted by the disgraced sexual harasser and former Fox News host Bill O’Reilly this afternoon, Trump denied ever telling Giuliani to go to Ukraine to dig up dirty laundry on his political rival Joe Biden.

Asked directly by O’Reilly what the former New York Mayor was doing in Ukraine on his behalf, Trump did everything he could to distance Giuliani’s actions from himself.

“Well, you have to ask that to Rudy,” the president replied to O’Reilly’s query, “I don’t even know. I know he was going to go to Ukraine and I think he cancelled a trip, but, you know, Rudy has other clients other than me.”

The former Fox News luminary apparently wanted to make sure that Trump issued a denial clear enough that no one could misunderstand what he was claiming.

“You didn’t direct him to go there on your behalf?” O’Reilly asked.

“No,” was Trump’s responce.

With Rudy Giuliani having already implied that he has “insurance” if a bus suddenly comes rolling over his body — a statement interpreted as a warning to the president not to try to pin blame on his lawyer, but that Giuliani insists merely refers to a wealth of evidence of Joe Biden’s corrupt action locked away in his safe — it will be interesting to see how this next phase of the Ukraine scandal plays out.

For all the talk about honor among thieves, Trump has never placed the interests of anyone else above his own. So when push comes to shove, Rudy Giuliani had better step as far away from the curb as possible before that rapidly approaching bus barrels down upon him.
