Trump claims he’s had a “very busy day” after spending the morning tweeting and retweeting over 100 times

Amid a rapidly escalating impeachment inquiry, President Trump has all but abandoned his duties of office. Beyond appearing at signing ceremonies and holding his ego-boosting hate rallies, the ostensible leader of the free world spends the majority of his time on Twitter, retweeting any and everything he can that attempts to discredit the impeachment hearings, seemingly under the impression that if he can post his way to innocence. When he’s not tweeting, he’s watching cable news and then tweeting about the things that he sees on cable news.

This morning was particularly unproductive for the president; by 1 PM, he had tweeted or retweeted over one hundred times about the impeachment hearings, the vast majority of them being videos from Republican lawmakers or clips of his media sycophants defending him.

Here’s a little glimpse:

Add your name to demand Republicans stop repeating Putin’s dangerous propaganda to defend Trump’s crimes!

Which is why it is infuriating to watch the President claim that he’s had a “very busy day.”

At this point, it’s just pathetic to watch the president spend all of his days watching television and complaining about it on Twitter. Every mocking nickname and every disparaging remark is a signal of how insecure and unstable Donald Trump is, and that’s only going to get worse in the coming weeks. The truly ironic thing is that at as long as he’s watching television or reading his mentions on Twitter, at least he’s not working to advance the Republican Party’s heinous agenda or causing any international crises by flapping his filter-less mouth.

Sooner or later, he’s going to have to come to grips with the consequences of his actions, and he’s going to find out the hard way that all the tweets in the world won’t be able to save him.
