Trump trashes Fox News for daring to interview two of his top adversaries in impeachment efforts

What do you do when your favorite news channel and most ardent broadcast defender breaks ranks and devotes airtime to one of your most prominent critics?

If you’re Donald Trump, you go on to Twitter and savage them with a disbelieving second-guessing of their editorial judgment.

That’s exactly what the president did today when he got back from the Army-Navy football game marred by racist behavior by West Point cadets and discovered that Fox News had scheduled an interview with the former FBI director he unceremoniously fired in 2017 because “this Russia thing with Trump and Russia is a made-up story,” as he explained to NBC’s Lester Holt at the time.

Adding insult to injury in the president’s eyes, Fox News also plans on dedicating precious airtime that could be used to decry Trump’s impeachment to the architect of much of the Democrat’s impeachment inquiries, House Intelligence Committee Chairman Adam Schiff (D-CA).

Add your name to demand Republicans stop repeating Putin’s dangerous propaganda to defend Trump’s crimes!

Trump has been known to criticize individual Fox News reporters who have tried to be objective journalists rather than the amped-up cheerleaders on the “opinion and commentary” side of the cable news network, including Chris Wallace and Shepard Smith, the latter of whom resigned over the tensions his insistence on reporting actual facts caused among his colleagues.

It’s rare that he criticizes the network as a whole, however, since so many of its star personalities are among his most fervent defenders — with Sean Hannity, Laura Ingraham, and Jeanine Pirro parroting his propaganda word for word on a regular basis.

Usually, like in this instance, Trump objects to Fox News’ feeble and infrequent attempts to project an air of non-partisan objectivity in its coverage to fight off the accusations that it is in actuality the virtual state propaganda broadcaster for the Trump administration.

Conflating true “fair and balanced” news coverage with “political correctness,” Trump inexplicably laments that despite their limited pandering to the Democratic establishment, Fox News was rejected in their attempts to earn copious advertising dollars by hosting one of the series of debates in the party’s primary season.

Trump’s crocodile tears over the cable news network’s inability to garner a payday from the party it lies about each day would be laughable were the animus behind them not so dangerous to the health of the freedom of the press in this nation.

Trump knows perfectly well that Fox News will never abandon him as long as he continues to generate more money for the network through its wall to wall adulation of his regime than through any other means.

His tweet superficially condemning the news network is merely an excuse to sling more mud towards James Comey and Rep. Adam Schiff both of whom he blames for his impeachment troubles when it is his own criminality that he should be looking to as the culprit in that matter.
