Shaken Trump vows Democrats will see backlash at “the box office” after impeachment verdict
President Donald J. Trump just gave Michigan rally-goers a gaffe-ridden instant reaction to the House of Representatives’ vote to approve articles of impeachment.
Today, the House voted overwhelmingly 230-197 to impeach Trump for abuse of power and 229-198 to approve an article of impeachment for obstruction of Congress.
President Trump had been originally scheduled to take the stage in Battle Creek, Michigan at 7 pm, but apparently delayed the start of his rally to coincide with the end of the House’s floor debate on impeachment.
That’s where he made a telling gaffe exposing just how rattled the impeachment proceedings has made him, and what the President really thinks of politics; not as public service, but merely a cheap form of theater.
Democrats, Trump says, will" receive a big backlash at the box office" — before correctly himself to "ballot box."

CNN fact-checker Daniel Dale has the unfortunate task of regularly watching Trump’s rallies to catalog all of the lies and even he called it the “weirdest Trump rally in a long, long time.”
Trump is now complaining of media coverage of his previous comments about people flushing toilets 15 times. This is the weirdest Trump rally in a long, long time. https://t.co/B7J3PaSLuL

However, President Trump did issue one of his disgusting if not unfamiliar calls for police brutality after a protester interrupted his unhinged remarks.
One of the protesters fired off a two-handed middle-finger salute on the way out.

Trump followed up his call to violence by insulting one of Michigan’s most beloved politicians, Rep. John Dingell, who passed away just ten months ago after becoming the longest-serving Congressman in American history.
Dale called it an “unusually bitter speech even for a Trump rally…”
I amend my early assessment: this is an unusually bitter speech even for a Trump rally speech.

It appears that the small town of Battle Creek was chosen for tonight because it is inside House Freedom Caucus co-founder Rep. Justin Amash’s (I-MI) district.
Former Tea Party Republican Amash spoke poignantly against Trump’s crimes of office during today’s impeachment floor debate, proving himself once again the only (now-former) member of the 116th Congress’ GOP caucus that isn’t a raging hypocrite for being willing to cover up for President Trump’s crimes and lies.
Meanwhile, Trump’s partner in crime Rudy Giuliani skipped the rally to watch his client get impeached from his favorite cigar bar in Manhattan, which is owned by the President’s son-in-law.
Donald Trump wanted historians to look back at his unhinged letter to Speaker Pelosi, but there’s little doubt that the video of his angry, self-pitying rally while getting impeached in the House will prove a more telling historical record for future scholars studying how a maniacal narcissistic demagogue could hold sway in American politics.
At the time of this article’s writing, the president has been speaking for over two hours and his crowd is running out of gas. God only knows what he’s gonna come out with next.
