White House source claims Hillary lost in 2016 on purpose so that Trump could be impeached

The conman’s game is to lure you into a mental hall of mirrors where you can’t tell what is real and what is a distorted reflection of reality. It is the essence of Donald Trump’s efforts to gaslight America with his outright lies, “alternative facts,” and outlandish conspiracy theories.

The blizzard of disinformation and deceit can be so overwhelming that the hapless marks in the conman’s audience often can find themselves unable to understand just how ridiculous the assertions being made truly are without stepping back and thinking about the actual implications of what’s being peddled as plausible.

With that in mind, CNN’s senior White House reporter Brian Karem came across a new conspiracy theory being put forth in all seriousness by someone that he describes only as a White House source — a theory that was so outlandish that he felt compelled to preface it by assuring his Twitter followers that it wasn’t an article from the satirical website The Onion.

Add your name to demand Republicans stop repeating Putin’s dangerous propaganda to defend Trump’s crimes!

The premise is so thoroughly ludicrous that one would have to be so deeply enthralled by Donald Trump’s web of paranoid fantasies to believe it that there would be little possibility of escaping the president’s circus funhouse of self-preserving falsehoods.

On the surface, the idea is so prima facie absurd as to elicit loud guffaws at the type of mental gymnastics a Trump supporter would have to endure to wrap their brain around the concept and accept it as conceivable.

Without knowing exactly who Karem’s source is, it’s difficult to determine whether whoever came up with this idea is personally deluded or cynically manipulative with an extremely contemptuous view of the gullibility of the Trump base.

However, given the logical fallacies that they’ve already accepted from the Trump administration — the phone call was “perfect,” “no collusion, no obstruction,”  a “landslide” electoral victory and a popular mandate, among many, many more — that estimation of the manure that some people will accept as fact against all evidence may be well deserved.

Suffice it to say that anyone who swallows this Bizarro world theory deserves a president like Donald Trump.

The rest of us — the vast majority of Americans— don’t deserve such a fate and can only work as hard as we can to ensure his removal from office and to smash his hall of mirrors.
