Chrissy Teigen roasts “robot” Melania for going “haywire” in uncomfortable Trump New Year’s video
President Trump and First Lady Melania Trump rang in the New Year at his garish monument to poor taste in Florida, Mar-a-Lago. Always desperate for the spotlight, the president allowed cameras into the event and ended up ranting at them in the unhinged fashion we’ve unfortunately come to expect from our commander-in-chief.
When the First Couple was asked to share their new year’s resolutions at one point, Melania Trump claimed she wants “Peace on the world,” which is exactly the kind of unthinking answer one would expect from such a vapid individual. This is a woman who has clearly demonstrated she cares about nothing beyond the proximity to power that her marriage allows. She has failed time and again to stand up and disavow her husband’s worst actions and rhetoric, revealing her signature anti-cyberbullying initiative to be nothing but a bad joke. One can safely presume her desire for world peace is yet another hollow talking point.
“Peace is right but I’m not sure you’re supposed to say a resolution out loud,” the president interjected, seemingly confusing the superstitions around birthday wishes with new year’s resolutions. The embarrassing mix of over-confidence and stark ignorance offered a perfect encapsulation of who Donald Trump is as a man. After his little faux pas, he went on a rambling tangent about his unspecified resolution for the country before segueing into his usual inarticulate brags about his accomplishments. It was a complete mess in every sense.

It wasn’t long before celebrity-model-author Chrissy Teigen found the clip and retweeted it, mocking Trump’s confusion and Melania’s stilted behavior. Teigen has been one of Trump’s most consistently brutal and hilarious critics and once again she nailed it.
“that’s birthday wishes, dumbass. and calibrate the robot to your left she’s going haywire,” Teigen wrote.
She quickly racked up over 21,000 retweets and 201,000 likes, a clear indication that a large swath of people agree with her characterization of the President of the United States, the most powerful man in the world, and the ostensible leader of the free world as a “dumbass.”
