First Daughter Ivanka Trump caused a stir this morning when she brushed past CNN reporter Jim Acosta and refused to comment on her father’s currently unfolding impeachment trial while at the World Economic Forum in Davos, Switzerland.
Refusing to give him the time of day, President Trump’s only beloved child haughtily sneered and pretended she didn’t see the seasoned reporter as the unelected White House official accompanied her father to yet another major international conference.

There is no love lost between the Trumps and Jim Acosta, who was at the center of a tense confrontation in which a White House aide attempted to yank the microphone away from Acosta as he challenged the president on the Russia investigation. The Trump team then denied him access to the White House grounds, attempted to accuse him of “laying hands” on the aide, and then released a video they later admitted was doctored to try to smear him and justify their attack on the First Amendment.
The presence of Trump children and their personal business interests at every international meeting is a major source of controversy and fairly flagrant unethical behavior on their part. Ivanka’s husband, Jared Kushner caused a stir a few months ago when he was spotted at the North Atlantic Treaty Organization summit, hobnobbing with world leaders at fancy dinners despite not having any expertise in defense or foreign policy.
Trump frequently uses Ivanka as an inappropriate surrogate, dispatching her to summits and meetings around the world like despite not having been elected to any position and having no experience doing anything beyond profiting off of sweatshops and stealing designs for her fashion line.
Ivanka Trump has no business being at Davos with the president, and it is even more offensive to see her treating our press with so much glaring contempt on the global stage.
